If you have fuel, refrigerant or electricity data for specific assets, equipment or spaces, you can upload this to Unravel Carbon by adding assets / sub-facilities to your business facilities. This guide includes step-by-step guidance on how to do this.
Adding assets / sub-facilities
- Select “Define” and “Asset/ sub-facilities” to start adding assets / sub-facilities.
- Note that you will need to define your assets/ sub-facilities here prior to uploading data at this level of granularity.
- The information panel on the right explains what are assets and sub-facilities.

- Select “Add asset”. Select the business facility to add assets to, as well as asset types.
- The asset types are grouped by Industry. You can select an industry for the asset to filter the list of asset types.
- Input a unique asset code for each asset.
- Input the period for which the asset is actively in use. Use “Present” if you are unsure when the asset will be retired.
- Asset description is optional

- To add more assets for that same facility, click on the “Add asset” button, or use the duplicate icon for an asset / sub-facility you have already added.

- Select “Add” to save your asset / sub-facility list. You should then see a consolidated list.

- Select “Bulk edit” if you would like to make bulk changes to the current list of assets.


- Click “Save”. You should be able to view the updates on the asset registry list.
