Scope 1 emissions are direct greenhouse (GHG) emissions that occur from sources that are controlled or owned by an organization. They can come from the following sources:
This guide will focus on Scope 1 emissions from fuel combustion. To begin measuring Scope 1 emissions (fuel combustion) on Unravel Carbon’s platform, please download the ‘Fuel Combustion’ template on our platform.
Follow our guide below on how to get started.
Go to Unravel Carbon and login.
Click on “Measure” and “Upload data” in the sidebar
This data can also be found within systems in your company. The following table explains where you might find the information you need.
Scope 1 | Where can you find this data? |
---|---|
Fuel combustion | This data will likely be found in your ERP system in the form of fuel purchase records. While this data is usable, it would be ideal for you to obtain exact energy consumption data (e.g., litres of fuel consumed - ideally by different equipment types) to obtain a more accurate emissions output where possible. Activity data relating to fuel combustion may not necessarily come from an ERP system - but this depends on your own data management systems. |
You are recommended to engage your Finance / HR / Operations team(s) for this set of data.
This data can be input into our Transaction data template for our engine to process. You can find the key information that the template requires here. |
For our engine to transform your data into emission figures, we would need the following information:
