What are Scope 3 Category 5 emissions?

These are emissions from disposal and treatment of the waste generated by your company at facilities that are not owned or operated by your company (i.e. by a waste management service provider).

The wastes generated from your operations, what types they are and how they are treated at your third-party disposals contribute to your Scope 3 Category 5 emissions. It will be ideal to differentiate waste based on its type (e.g., food-waste, waste water, etc.) as well as waste treatment methods (e.g., landfilled, recycled, etc.).

What template do I use?

This data can be uploaded to our platform via file template or webform. If you do not know the amount of waste your business generates, we recommend you to opt for the webform option, which starts from step 3.

1. Go to Unravel Carbon and login.

2. Click on “Measure” and “Upload data” in the sidebar

3. On the top right hand corner of the page, click on “Download file template”

4. Select the type of file template you are looking for. Click on “Download”. Please refer to the details in your Guide to determine which template to download.
